is-phone communicator is a softphone which extends the Microsoft collaboration platform with telephony functionality by integrating IP telephony. It is based on SIP 2.0 and integrated into Microsoft Outlook (currently available for Outlook 2003/2007) and Windows Live Messenger. It delivers SIP based communications for PC-to-Phone, Phone- to-PC and PC-to-PC and is ready to deploy into large-scale subscriber networks to grow collaborative communities.

Leading audio coding and decoding (codec) technologies are integrated into is-phone communicator for high quality of services.

The communicator is interoperable with Asterisk and SIP Express Routers as well as leading IP-PBXs suppliers like 3Com, Avaya, Cisco, Nortel, Siemens or VocalTec.

Providers of SIP services can offer full IP telephony functionality for all users with Microsoft Outlook or windows Live Messenger. Logs are stored within Outlook and a call can be started with a click on a contact e.g. within the Messenger list (click-to-call).
